Mother-Son Intercollegiate Athletes Appear on Good Morning San Diego

Miramar College intercollegiate athletes Brandi Mitchell and Maverick Mitchell are a mother-son duo playing for the Jets. Brandi, age 45, is a team co-captain on the Jet's women's soccer team while her son Maverick is the starting goalie for the Jet's men's water polo team The duo appeared on KUSI's Good Morning San Diego on September 28 to talk about their experience.

Chances are you have heard the term “soccer mom” before as a reference to the minivan-carpooling, sideline-cheering, orange-slicing mother of kids who play soccer. At Miramar College, we define it in its truest sense by introducing you to Brandi Mitchell. At age 45, Mitchell is the newest member of the Miramar College women’s soccer team, as well as being the mother of two grown children.
