Resume Writing

Resumes

Resumes are not just a document to use when you apply for a job.  They are a way for you to think about and understand all of your accomplishments. They represent you and "speak" for you when you don't have an opportunity to network or communicate directly with an employer.  Resumes are one of the most common ways to earn an interview where you can continue the conversation about your skills and experience with a potential employer. They also help you articulate yourself better in an interview. Resumes will help you more easily create a profile on our online job and internship board, Handshake or your LinkedIn profile.

Cover Letter

Cover Letters are a lesser known (and sometimes not required) accompaniment to a resume. They provide an overview or summary of your top skills and accomplishments that you want to highlight for the employer. They can also be an opportunity to share more of your background and story, and to give potential employers a sense of your personality. Cover letters can be required as a more formal and separate document, or they may instead be entered in the body of an email, with your resume attached.
